 April A. Hannah is a New York
State Licensed Mental Health Counselor, who
provides services to individuals, couples,
children, adolescents and families. Her approach
to therapy blends holistic studies and cognitive
behavioral techniques which are solution focused.
She is a graduate from The College of
Saint Rose (2004) and holds a Master’s Degree
of Science in Education. She completed her Bachelor of Arts (1999) at SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica Rome and completed an Associate of Arts Degree (1997) at SUNY Cobleskill.
April worked at Four
Winds Psychiatric Hospital in Saratoga Springs,
New York for 5 years serving children
and families who had been diagnosed with
psychiatric conditions. She ran weekly
multi-family groups for Four Winds Hospital
using psychodrama and role playing techniques. In the summer of 2008 April left Four Winds Hospital to begin her private practice full time.
April volunteers her time for Hospice in Greene and Saratoga County. She also has a history working
with at-risk adolescents and survivors of sexual
assault and abuse for 10 years.
The holistic and complementary therapies April
offers include creative visualization, relaxation,
stress reduction techniques, energy balancing,
chakra clearing and Reiki. She is a level two Reiki
practitioner of the Usui System and will begin her study to become a
Reiki Master in 2009. She has completed Level I and II of Hypnotherapy at the Southwest Instititue of Healing Arts in Tempe, Arizona and will be certified by the American Board of Hypnotherapy in March of 2009.

level and assist them to explore their
personal strengths and beliefs,
in order to move their energy into a space
that will help bring about
wholeness and healing. It is my belief that healing cannot occur unless we are ready to address our emotional, mental and spiritual challenges.
It is important that my clients feel
comfortable and safe within their surroundings
which is what I strive to provide in my
office setting.
Counseling can bring about insight and
change to a person's life. My hope for all
of my clients is that they can begin to become
aware of their greatest purpose and potential in
this lifetime and to achieve self awareness.
My clients will be allowed to be
themselves and not be judged. They
are encouraged to set their own goals as I
work to assist them in achieving what they
have set out to accomplish in a caring and
supportive environment.”
